Rocky Mountain High School Lobo Basketball
Coach Rakiecki is entering is 5th year as a head basketball coach and his 3rd year at Rocky Mountain High School. Prior to leading the Lobos, Rakiecki was the head coach at Torrington High School in Torrington, Wyoming for two seasons. He has also been an assistant coach at Helena High School and Bozemen High School in Montana. Coach Rakiecki is married to Ashley Rakiecki and has a son, Jace. He played basketball at Colorado State University and is a Social Studies/Business teacher at Rocky. Coach Rakiecki believes the primary goal of our coaching staff is to assist our student-athletes in accomplishing the following:
1) To become better basketball players.
2) Learn life lessons that can be applied for the rest of their lives.
3) Develop into contributing members of society.
4) Learn that hard work, responsibility, dedication, determination, and adherence to TEAM rules in a TEAM format will aid them throughout their lives.
5) Have a positive experience.
Coach Jon Rakiecki
As the varsity assistant at Rocky, Coach Callahan brings with him 6 years of high school coaching experience. Coach Callahan brings to the program a fundamental based philosophy, optimistic energy, and a temendious work ethic to improve the program at every level. Coach Callahan is also an experienced Mathematics teacher at Rocky. Coach Callahan’s education includes an undergraduate from the University of Michigan and a Master’s degree from the University of Northern Colorado. Coach Callahan grew up in metro Detroit and has taught High School Mathematics for 9 years.
Coach Mike Callahan
Coach Sabas is one of two coaches in the boys basketball program that played at Colorado State University. His experience and knowledge of the game helps develop Rocky's JV players into skilled, hard working, and team oriented varsity players. Coach Sabas is also a PE teacher in Poudre School District.
Coach Barry Sabas
Coach Gutting has been an assistant coach at Rocky for 12 seasons. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the staff. Coach Gutting serves as the programs C team coach as focuses on skill development. He is also a elementary school teacher at CLP in LaPorte. Prior to coming to Fort Collins coach Gutting served as an assistant coach at Guttysburg College for 8 seasons.
Coach Steve Gutting
Coach Crosby grew up in northern Colorado and has been a high school teacher for 8 years and has coached multiple sports for 9 years. He currently teaches Resource English at Rocky Mountain High School and is excited about entering his 2nd season as the freshmen basketball coach. Coach Crosby emphasises the qualities and characteristics nessessary to be successful in the basketball program at Rocky.
